WINDSOR, N.S. - The Avon View Avalanche football team went to Canning on Oct. 29 with hopes of securing home-field advantage for their divisional semi-final playoff game with the Northeast Kings Titans on Nov. 5.

The Avalanche started strong and kept pace with the Titans throughout the first half.

AV scored their first touchdown on a quarterback sneak by Jack Sheehan to take a 7-6 lead.

Later the Northeast Kings scored a two-point converted touchdown and went ahead 22-13.

Tyler Eddy caught another 40-yard pass to bring the Avalanche back to within one point at 22-21.

However with less than a minute remaining, the Titans struck again for another TD and no convert for a 28-21 lead at the half.

But the Avalanche’s momentum collapsed post half-time as the Titans racked up 22 unanswered points for a 50-21 victory.

The Titans will play host on Nov. 5 to the Avalanche once again, with the winner advancing the following weekend to the NSSAF Division 2 Championship Football Finale.

Editor’s Note – a previous version of this story said that Northeast King’s scored 38 points in the second half, not 22. We regret the error.
