Verna Evelyn Fraser — Neil's Harbour

Verna Evelyn Fraser
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Verna Evelyn Fraser at Highland Manor in Neil's Harbour, NS, on November 16, 2018. Born in White Point, September 19, 1935. She lived life with amazing determination, stellar work ethic, and unending strength. There wasn't a task she couldn't handle from the manufacturing industry in ON, to jigging cod (one of the best), cooking at the Chowder house, to being the crossing guard at Dingwall Elementary school. There wasn't a person young or old who didn't know Verna. She loved to garden, bake, knit (her mittens and socks were flawless creations), watching wheel of fortune and cheering on her Blue Jays, playing bingo and spending time with her family with delicious meals every Sunday with plenty of treats to choose from. She is survived by her children, Jocelyn (Jackie), Colin, Jerome (Jody), and Jennifer (Justin); siblings, Lorraine, Everett (Brenda), Wanda (David), and Sheila (Raymond); 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and dear friend, Eva. She was predeceased by her husband, Murdock Joseph Fraser "Fraser Fraser"; parents, George and Willena MacKinnon; siblings, Lenora, Clarence, Howard, Wendell, and Jackie; daughter-in-law, Beverly; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law. Her final days were filled with joy and comfort at Highland Manor and at Buchannan Memorial Hospital. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff and nurses and her "little doll", Kelsie. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to North of Smokey Palliative Care. "And while she lies in peaceful sleep, Her memory we shall always keep"
