Sharon E. Hamilton

HAMILTON, Sharon E. North Sydney It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Sharon Hamilton, age 76, on Friday, October 18, 2019, at home. Born October 5, 1943 in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Regis (Yorke) George. Sharon was a proud mom and grandmother who enjoyed her role as caregiver to her family. She had a great sense of humour and loved to torment family members in order to get them to laugh. Sharon is survived by her six children, Paul Hamilton, Dwayne Hamilton, both of Toronto, Carrie Hamilton, Calgary, Kelly Spooney and Terri Ann Spooney (Steven), both of Sydney, Danielle Hamilton, North Sydney. Also, by her fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, three nieces and a brother, Eddie Murphy, Sydney Mines. The family would like to thank Billy Young, a dear friend of mom, who she could always count on, as well as the Northside Homemakers for their services to mom over the last few years. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home chapel, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating.
