Ruth Young

On Thursday, June 6, 2019, Ruth Young, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family at 97 years of age. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Roy Young. Loving mother of Maxine (Michael) MacMullin, the late Ein (Sheila) Young and the late Ruth (Winston) Matheson. She had eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by her siblings, Peter, Clarence, Clara, Drusilla, Anna, Kaitie and her granddaughter, Carolyn. Ruth enjoyed life, family members and many friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others and with a passion for tea and sweets she would make all feel welcomed. To know her was to love her, she will be greatly missed but not forgotten. Born in Donkin, Nova Scotia on April 4, 1922. She was the daughter of the late John & Sarah (nee Howie) Wilson. Resided in North Sydney, Nova Scotia and moved to St. Catharines, Ontario to live with her daughter and her family in 1982. Special thanks to Dr. Timothy Tatzel for his excellent care.
