Ruby "June" Macintosh — St. Peter's/Truro

Ruby "June" Macintosh
1926 - 2019. June passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29th, in her 93rd year in Richmond Villa, St. Peter's. She was born in Truro on October 8, 1926, to the late Burton and Mary Fowlie (of Truro), and was the middle daughter, having four sisters. June was a loving wife to Sid for over 67 years and a wonderful mother to her three children. She is survived by son, Wayne, Halifax; and daughter, Carolyn (George) Chant, Marble Mountain, Cape Breton. June was active in the U.C.W, a C.G.I.T. leader and a member of the Order of Eastern Star where she held many positions. She was an active and faithful member of the United Church. June was a remarkably strong woman who always had a smile and loved to play a good joke on friends and family, especially on her favourite holiday of Halloween. Her door was always open for a cup of tea or a good game of cards, and she cherished all of the good times at the Brule Beach cottage. She was loved by all who had the good fortune to meet her. June was predeceased by her husband, Cyril "Sid"; daughter, Susan Payne; son-in-law, David Payne; daughter-in-law, Liz MacIntosh; her sisters, Fan McCabe, Helen Boomer, Joyce Kent, Judy McNutt; and granddaughter-in-law, Andrea Rose Chant. June was a loving grandmother to Andrew (Angela) Chant, Stellarton; Scott McKeen, China; Peter (Aya) MacIntosh, Japan; Sean (Camille) Payne, Calgary, Alta.; Marc (Erin) Mac-Intosh, Boston, Mass.; Patrick (Jill) Payne, Calgary, Alta.; Jeffrey (Holly) Chant, Halifax; Patricia (Scott) Chant-Sehl, Hamilton, Ont. She was blessed with great-grandchildren, Amelia, Ailin, Kaylie, Sawyer, Carson, Lucy, Haven, Lochlan, Nora, Greta, Gabriella and Ben; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Richmond Villa for their kindness, care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 1 p.m. in Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro with a reception to follow.
