Memorial service for the late Ruben Arthur Tibbo, 69, Dartmouth, was held December 30 in A. L. Mattatal Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date. Mr. Tibbo died December 25, 2018, at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born November 16, 1949, in Antigonish, he was the son of the late Rhoda Pearl (Pye) and John Tibbo. He grew up in Spanish Ship Bay and moved to the Dartmouth area for work at a young age. He was well known by many for always putting his soul into any work he did. He retired from Superior Propane after several years to work at Fader Agencies, until his diagnosis. His work ethic and determination was highlighted even more when he fought tirelessly through his illness to continue visiting and spending time with his family. He loved going around the city and down the shore to see those he loved in the only automobile that would be fitting for someone with his work ethic and reliability, a Toyota. He was loved by anyone that met him. He radiated positivity, love, and humour to all he knew. He always had a ‘Hi, Buddy’ and a story for everyone. He loved to laugh and play jokes on people. He was always the first person to help anyone that needed a hand with anything. He is survived by his partner, Phyllis; sister, Eva (Wayne) Cruickshank; three brothers, Foster (Roseanne), Weston (Debbie), Lewis (Ardith); sister-in-law, Sharon; seven nephews, Shawn, Trevor, Darius, Blaine, Joel, Robby, Chad; two nieces, Stacy, Laura; goddaughter, Cathy Noseworthy; several great-nephews and great-nieces; many friends, as well as Mitchell Ferguson, who was like a son to him. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Henry. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Bide Awhile, St. Luke's Anglican Church Liscomb or a charity of choice.
