Rose Muruim Barron

Rose Muruim Barron
With heavy hearts the family of Rose Barron announce: our Irish Rose has passed away peacefully in the An Cala Palliative Care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, into the waiting arms of our Heavenly Father on Monday May 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. Rose was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt to so many. She was born October 9, 1941, in Glace Bay, NS, the youngest child of Frank and Catherine (Hanrahan) Barron. She lived in Glace Bay until her teens and then in Stratford, Ontario. After 58 years, she came back to her beloved Cape Breton. Her Cape Breton roots always ran deep. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters, Rita, Kay and Joan as well as brothers, Doug & Frank. Rose is survived by her sisters, Alice T Ryan, Mary “Mollie” Moffatt and Genevieve “Tootsie” McGillivray and brother, Mike (Alma) of Kamloops BC; special niece, Ralphina “Fina” Boutilier who was like a daughter to her; daughter, Rhonda (Mark) Williams of Mitchell, Ontario; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a very hard worker who loved to dance, swim, bowl, laugh and sing. She loved being Irish…temper and all. St. Patrick’s Day was her favorite day of the year. She sang many an Irish song with her beautiful voice, which will be missed by one and all. She loved to talk to her best childhood friend Ruth McGrath for hours. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Curry’s Funeral Home, Glace Bay. Visitation for the late Rose Barron will be held at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay Wednesday June 6, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday June 7, 2018 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Church with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Wallace Road, Glace Bay. In memory of our dear Rose, we ask…” to be kind to each other”.
