Ronald Edmund McDaniel

Funeral service for the late Ronald Edmund McDaniel, 66, Brook Village, was held February 12 in St. John the Baptist Church, Brook Village, with Father Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial was in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Mr. McDaniel died February 1, 2019, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born January 8, 1953, in Inverness, he was a son of the late Bill and Marie (Beaton) McDaniel, Brook Village, Inverness County. He worked at the Department of Oceanography in Dartmouth, then joined the Canadian Coast Guard, Icebreaker Division and served for many years. Upon retirement, he returned to Brook Village, where he lived out a simple life. He is survived by four brothers, Colin, Port Hood; Clarence, Burdett, Alta; Gerry (Cheryl) Port Hawkesbury; Francis (Anne Marie), Brook Village; two sisters, Mary Claire (Charlie) MacDonald, Port Hood; Elizabeth (Wayne) Watson, Brookfield; seven nieces, 18 nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Matt, Sam; sister-in-law, Hughena McDaniel.
