Roland ‘Wayne’ Langille

A celebration of life for the late Roland ‘Wayne’ Langille, 70, Port Hood, Inverness County, was held November 2 in St. Stephen’s-Jubilee United Church, Port Hood, with Pastor Maggie Plant officiating. Burial was in Union Protestant Cemetery, Port Hood. Mr. Langille died October 27, 2018, at home. Born in Tatamagouche, he was a son of Mary Kathleen (Fullerton) Hooper and the late Roland Alexander Langille. His family moved to Port Hawkesbury in the early 1960s, where he attended school, played hockey and made lifelong friends. He studied the plumbing and pipefitting trade at NSIT in Halifax and became a member of Local 682, serving as a board member. He worked all over Canada and the US. He enjoyed photography, gardening and was an energy conservationist and lover of nature. He was very interested in forest management and served on the board of North Inverness. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Janice (Langley); two daughters, Laura (Gary), Leeanne (Pierre), both of Halifax; four grandchildren, Sebastian, Easton, Emmerson, Nicholas; three brothers, Colin (Yvan ) Montreal, Quebec; Gregory (Sandra), Saint John, New Brunswick; Jeffrey (Faye), Hunter River, Prince Edward Island; sister, Rosealee, Trenton; three sisters-in-laws, Laura Jean Langley, Arlene Bussey, Port Hawkesbury; Debora Langley, Fort McMurray, Alberta; 10 nieces and nephews, Sarah, Rebecca, Jessica, Alyson, Morgan, Gavin, Gina, Mark, Kendra, Luke; many grand-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by stepfather, Robert Frothingham Hooper; brother-in-law, Jimmy ‘Nick’ Langley.
