Rodney James "Rod" Lessard — Brookside

1971 - 2018. It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Rodney Lessard of Brookside. He was a son of Norman and (the late) Sharon Lessard. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Lessard; daughter, Gabrielle; brothers, Troy, Victoria, B.C.; Dwayne, Brookside; sister, Yvette Gagnon, Wellington; and many nieces and nephews. Rod was an inspiration and loved by all who knew him. He was a man who loved life, his family and friends and a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Joiners America Local 83, as both a carpenter and recruiter. Living in care for the past 12 years, he battled MS, but Rod never missed an opportunity to share a laugh. Even in his final days, he was able to find reasons to smile.The family would like to express gratitude and a special thanks to everyone who visited with Rod during his illness, helping to ensure he always knew how much he was cared about and loved. There will be a celebration of Rod's life which is what he would have wanted, on Saturday, October 20th in The Bay Landing, 345 Prospect Rd., from 1-4:30 p.m., all are welcome.
