Robert Bernard ‘Bob’ Rossong

Funeral service for the late Robert Bernard ‘Bob’ Rossong, 71, Yellow Marsh, Guysborough County, was held November 17 in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso, with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial was in Star of the Sea Parish Cemetery, Canso. Mr. Rossong died November 13, 2018, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born August 7, 1947, in Canso, he was a son of the late John and Blanche (Casey) Rossong. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years. He worked at the NSLC for 25 years, retiring at 54. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean (Fanning) Rossong; son, Robert (Amber) Rossong; daughter, Bonita (Keith) Meade; step-son, Nicky (Tammy) Fanning; eight grandchildren, Jeffery Meade, Chelsea Chalmers, Bruce Meade, Kayla Meade, Maya Rossong, Dara Rossong, Jonathon Fanning and Jordan Fanning; great-granddaughter, Lilliana Rose Meade; brother, Francis (Mary) Rossong; two sisters, Kaye (Ralph) MacPherson, Theresa Dewar; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Fred) Rossong, Olive (Hughie) Rossong. He was predeceased by four brothers, Hughie, Fred, Junior, and James Rossong; two sisters, Sophie Gotchell, Mary MacIsaac. Memorial donations may be made to Eastern Memorial Hospital Palliative Care.
