RITA RICHARD

Funeral service for the late Rita Richard, 92, Canso, formerly of Port Felix, Guysborough County, was held September 9 in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Port Felix, with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery, Port Felix.

Mrs. Richard died September 3, 2019, in the home of her daughter Carol and son-in-law Brian Parker.

Born in Port Felix, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Clara (Pellerine) Cashin. She worked at the Nova Scotian Hotel, Halifax and the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax.

She is survived by five children, Jude Cashin, Charlos Cove; Andrew Richard, Halifax; Harold (Masako) Richard, Vancouver, British Columbia; Rollie (Elizabeth) Richard, Harrietsfield; Carol (Brian Parker), Canso; three grandchildren, Charlene (Robert), Angela (Rick), Sonya (Ryan); four great-grandchildren, Bobby, Lexis, Tessa, Madden; three brothers; Arthur, Ontario; Paul (Rena), Charlos Cove; Elmo (Dorothy), Dartmouth; sister, Jacqueline LeBlanc, Port Felix; sister-in-law, Anita Cashin, Port Felix; many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew; five brothers, Jude, Joseph (Hilda), Walthen, Danny (Grace), Stephen (Gertie) Pellerine; two sisters, Monica (Nicholas) David, Excilda (Patrick) Boudreau; sister-in-law, Margaret Cashin.
