TONEY, Peter Joseph Alberta/Eskasoni The family sadly announces the passing of Peter Joseph Toney, age 71 of Spruce Grove, AB, formerly of Eskasoni, on September 5, 2019 at Westview Health Center, Stoney Plain, AB. Born in Eskasoni, he was the son of the late Frank C. and Mary (Googoo) Toney. Peter was a kind, gentle man who never stepped away from helping his family; he was a man who took on providing good quality life to those family members in need. He is survived by sons, Nathan and Corey Toney; stepson, Colin (Kaitlyn Ropsen) Wells; grandson, Francis Wells, with whom he resided; great-grandchild, Quindalyn Wells, all of Alberta; he is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family members in Eskasoni. Peter was predeceased by his wife, Linda Big John; brother-in-law, George Big John and Old Man Steve. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 15 after 7 p.m. at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church with Fr. Angus MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
