Peter Currie

Peter Currie
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Currie, age 67, on November 1, 2018. Born in Glace Bay, Peter was the son of Peter and Vio (Legnaro) Currie. Peter could always be found down on the wharf or out having a coffee. He loved and enjoyed fishing and was fortunate to have a job aboard the Munden’s boat for most of his life hauling lobsters. He was happiest on the ocean. When he wasn’t fishing, he would be busy doing drywall. In his younger years, he was as strong as an ox, excelled at swimming, and loved hunting, darts and teasing friends. His love for his daughter, Bethany, and his grandchildren along with the rest of his family was undeniable. He will forever be remembered for having a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He was truly a genuine man. Peter leaves behind his daughter, Bethany (Steven) Young; grandchildren, Brendan and Emma; brother, Rocky, and sisters, Donna (Bob) and Angela (Jack) Nicholson. Peter will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Muzzy Legnaro, and son, (in infancy) BJ. No visitation will take place and his remains will be cremated. A Celebration of Life for Peter will take place at The Hub Club on Thursday, November 8 from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.tjtracey.com.
