Ozzy Hubert Clair

Funeral service for the late Ozzy Hubert Clair, 28, Paqtnkek Mi’qmaw Nation, was held April 13 in Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton, with Father Andrew Gillies officiating, assisted by Deacon Art Riley. Burial was in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Summerside Road. Mr. Clair died tragically April 8, 2019, with his cousin Niko. Readers at the funeral Mass were Molly Peters, Princess Clair, Angela Lafford and Jeremy Paul. Owen Clair, Rylan Clair and Lovie Clair presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by Heatherton Folk Choir. Active pallbearers were Avery Doucette, Byron Googoo, Jordan Bernard, Greg Bernard, Jeremy Paul and Gerard Julian. Honorary pallbearers were Francis Julian, Nathan Lafford, Jay Googoo, David Morris, Cory Julian and Pauljij Francis. Born July 15, 1990, in Moncton, he was a son of Eunice Marie Bernard and the late Joseph Hubert Clair. Family was very important to him. His children were his pride and joy, and he had a special relationship with each of his siblings. He loved fishing with his family and friends, singing and drumming, and working out at the Paqtnkek Fitness Centre. Besides his mother, he is survived by two sons, Louie and Rylan Clair, Eskasoni; three sisters, Kateri Clair, Ursula Clair and Molij-Jo Bernard, all of Paqtnkek; brother, Joe Roddy Clair, Paqtnkek; five maternal aunts, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Googoo, Sharon Lafford, Sheila Watson, Nancy Bernard, Barbara Matheson; four maternal uncles, Daniel Paul, Wayne Syllliboy, Donald Googoo, Henry Googoo; four paternal aunts, Jacqueline Clair, (who was like a second mother), Irene Clair, Sue Ann Clair, Sue Ellen Clair; five paternal uncles, Gary Clair, Wayne Clair, Anthony Atoen, Ronnie Clair, Calvin Clair; godfather, Alfred Clement; goddaughter, Lena Judith Marie Doucette; four nieces, Keira and Lena Doucette, Julianne Augustine and Joelle Clair; nephew, Julius Augustine.
