Nellie Ball

BALL, Nellie Elizabeth Coxheath It is with great sadness we regret to announce the passing of Nellie Elizabeth Ball (nee Hamper), age 68 of Coxheath on October 15, 2019. She was born Dec. 13, 1950 in Sydney, the youngest of three children of the late Ernest and Gwynneth Hamper. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Church and Christ the King Church, as a member of the ACW and as a lay reader. She volunteered at CBRH and was a member of the Ladies Auxillary, Coxheath Fire Dept. for 25 years. She started her career at General Instruments and finished her career at The Ann Terry Project and in between she raised three children and babysat numerous others throughout the years. Nellie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Rowland Ball; three children and seven grandchildren. Daughter, Jennifer Peck, Coalhurst, AB; son, Johnathan, Coxheath; son, Stephen (Astra), Medicine Hat, AB; grandchildren, Daniel, Thomas, Joshua, Jordan, Elizabeth, Oceana and Nolan. She is also survived by her sister, Denise Sibley, Sydney and brother, James (Leona) Hamper, Sydney and nieces and nephews. On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., followed by the service at 2 p.m. at Christ the King Church, Sydney, officiated by The Reverend Peter Rafuse with a luncheon following.
