M.Eileen Brown

M. Eileen Brown, 91 years of age, of Amherst, formerly of Athol, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late John & Mary Flossy (Delaney) Terris. Eileen was a member of the Pythian Sisters and the UCW. She was a member of the Athol Red Cross. Her family was her pride and joy. Eileen will be sadly missed by her husband of 65 years, Russell, daughter, Patty Monty (Donald) of Dartmouth, NS, Greg (Joy) of Dieppe, NB, grandchildren, Sebastien, Chantal, Sean, Jackie; great grandchildren, Camden, Isabella, Maddie, Holly, Hailey; sister, Florence MacPherson of Amherst; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, James, Ralph, Kenneth, Thomas, Carl; sisters, Margarite Hollis, Eldora Godfrey. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777). The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 with a memorial service to be held at 2 p.m. Burial to take place in the Athol Cemetery in the spring.
