Mary Isabelle Mader

We regret to announce the passing of Mary Isabelle Mader, the former Mary Morrison, on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Sarah (Hynd) Morrison. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Roland in 1985. She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela (Doug) MacDonald and Patricia (the late Peter) Vanderwyst, both of Sydney; son, Glenn (Peggy), Manitoba; six grandchildren, Brenda, Blair, Rick, Barbie, Crystal and Greg; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ernie Mader, Bedford, and many nieces and nephews. Mary was also predeceased by her brothers, William in 1984 and Clarence in 2008. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Sydney, where she was involved with the Friendship Guild and in her younger years, the choir. Mary was a former member of Club 55, the Sydney Pensioner’s Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 12, Sydney. In her younger years, she was an ardent skater and bowler. Mary enjoyed the many friendships she made from her clubs, church, skating and bowling activities. A sincere thank you to the VON, Homecare, Dr. Patel and Palliative Care for the excellent care provided to Mary. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, November 27 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only.
