BROWN, Mary (Pye) Sydney Mines With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mary (Pye) Brown, age 68, on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney Mines on July 3, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Eliza (Prince) Pye. Mom was a person who was always laughing. She loved life and the people around her. She loved going for drives in the country, which made her very happy. Mom had many friends who loved her, and she will be sadly missed by everyone, especially her children. She is survived by her children, Russell MacDonald (Sharon), Jody (Fran) and Mary Ann (Brian); her grandchildren, Russell, Candace, Devon, Trevor, Alyssa, Glen, Angelita, Chandel and Breanna, and her nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Caroline, Helen, Eleanor (Joe), Jean (Fred), Florence and Violet (Doug); brothers, Joey (Tammy), Cecil and Freddie (Kim), and also James Brown. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her Brothers, Leonard and Albert; sister, Diane and Roddie MacDonald. Her family would like to thank all the CCA workers and friends who were so good to Mom, and also the nursing staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Visitation for Mary will be held today (Tuesday) July 9, 2019, from 6-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place Wednesday, at 11 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Brenda Drake officiating.
