Funeral for the late Marie Theresa MacMaster, 88, Boylston, was held June 4 in St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Guysborough, with Father Callistus Abazie officiating. Miss MacMaster died May 30, 2019. Born October 17, 1930, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late John 'Jack' and Eleanor (O'Connor) MacMaster. She moved to Boylston with her family three years later. She looked after others, taking care of her mother as a young lady, then staying home to tend to her father, while also caring for Jessie Sceles. She started curling and continued for 50 years. She was one of Chedabucto Curling Club's first members. She could also be seen on her ride on mower cutting her grass or riding it to her sister Jean's for storage. She also was a member of the Guysborough Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed talking to guests at the hospital teas and, in her later years, she would spend Christmas in Halifax with her sister Ginny and her family. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by brother-in-law, George Doucet; four nieces and nephews, Ellen Cox (John), Dennis Doucet (Colleen), Brian Doucet (Karin), Carla Guest (Jeff); nine great nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Cox, Katie Fairweather (Michael), Jack and Ian Doucet, Reilly and Thomas Doucet and Connor, Owen and Lauren Guest; two great-great-nieces Rosetta and Harper Fairweather. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jean (Ken) Fisher, Virginia Doucet. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences: www.haverstocks.com
