Marie Huggins (Boyle) — Halifax

Of Halifax, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on August 11, 2019 at the age of 70, after a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. Marie grew up in Bathurst, N.B. and moved to Halifax, where she raised her family and worked at Atlantic Container Line and The Chronicle Herald. She loved to dance, have fun and could always be counted on for her quick wit and sparkling sense of humour. She was an avid reader and gardener, often enjoying both on her patio. She enjoyed decorating, especially for the season, hosting family gatherings, and more than anything loved spending time with her sons, Mike and Chris. Marie had a compassionate heart and was the first to lend a helping hand to family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Mike and Chris Huggins, of Halifax; siblings, Joan (Bob) Cameron, Jimmy Boyle, Joe (Marthe) Boyle, Kay (Bob) Morgan, Gail (Brian) DeGrace and Danny (Carol) Boyle; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Boyle and Yvette Boyle, and many nieces and nephews. She was a daughter of the late Margaret (Marge) (Whelton) and William (Bill) Boyle of Bathurst, N.B. and a sister of the late Patrick Boyle, Billy Boyle and Ann MacDonald. Cremation has taken place, to be followed by a family celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Marie's memory to a cause of your choice.
