Macphail Elsie May

MACPHAIL, Elsie May Glace Bay It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts, that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Elsie May MacPhail, 84, on July 31, 2019 at the CBRH, surround by her family. Born August 15, 1934 in Boularderie, NS, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Annie (Priest) Malin. She was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her. She was the most kind, loving, and gracious person, who enjoyed time spent in her home of 51 years, talking on the phone to those she loved. Mom loved to sing and was often heard humming in the kitchen while making her tea. Her favorite pastime was watching The Young and the Restless and Cori St. with Ellen. In her earlier days, she enjoyed going to dances, wearing one of her many peplum dresses and clip-on earrings. The thing in life that gave her the most happiness was her family and knowing that everyone was doing well. Life will never be the same without you. Until we meet again. Mom is survived by her children, Ellen (Derek), Normie (Nancy), and Charmayne (David). She will be missed by her grandchildren, Kendra (Ross), Ashley (Blair), Jordan (Kaisey), Brett (Sara), Kara (Ryan), and Kaitlyn, as well, her great-grandchildren, Cole, Myla, Silas, and Sommer. Also survived by sisters, Clara and Edie; many nieces and nephews; close friends, and her other family, Bernie (Janice), Blair, and Barry Rogers, who never stopped giving. Mom is predeceased by her husband, Norman; brothers, Lauchlin, Frankie, Alex, Harry, Billy, sisters, Irene, Annie, Katie, Margaret and Ruth. Much thanks to the doctors and nursing staff in the IMCU, who showed kindness and compassion for Mom while she was receiving care.
