Lorne William Marsh

Lorne William Marsh
It is with great sadness that the family of Lorne Marsh announce his passing on Feb.6, 2019 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Mill Creek on April 21, 1940 Lorne was the son of the late Garnet Sr. and Alice (Shinners) Marsh. Although Lorne worked on the Great Lake boats and spent thirty-five years with TransWestern as a warehouseman, his first and greatest love was farming. He was in his element when working the land and according to him, raising the fattest and tastiest chickens in Ontario! Lorne was much loved and will be greatly missed by his daughter and dedicated caregiver, Heather (Marsh)Weir; sons, Gord Marsh and Michael Foster; granddaughters, Kayla, Shannon and Robyn; and by his grandson, Matthew, all of Ontario. Lorne is also survived by his sisters, Cora (Lawrence) Shebib, North Sydney and Darlene (Carey) O’Handley of Southside Boularderie; and brothers, Garnet Jr., Sydney Mines, Basil (Clair), George’s River, Jackie (Sandra), Little Bras d’Or, Owen (Dorothy), Mill Creek and Florida, Roy (Nancy), Dartmouth, Greg, Sydney and Austin, Westville. Lorne is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Lorne was predeceased by his first wife, Marie and second wife, Jennie; his brothers, Ronnie (2002) and James (in infancy); as well as his sister-in-law, Dean (Hines) Marsh. There will be no visitation or service. Cremation has occurred, and interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Williams Funeral Home, St. Thomas, Ontario. “His absence is a silent grief; his life a beautiful memory.”
