Lloyd Ernest Kent — Musquodoboit Harbour
1938 - 2018. Lloyd was born in Ostrea Lake. He passed away peacefully with his family in attendance, on October 9, 2018 in his 81st year after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Helen (Morash), his partner for 55 years. He was the son of Norman Ernest Kent and Lulu (McKinnon). He is survived by his brothers, Theodore (Beverly), Carl (Vivian); and predeceased by his sister, Evelyn (Lorne). He leaves behind his loving daughter, Carolyn Skanes; his son, Brian Kent; and his grandson, Aaron Lloyd Skanes (Ashlee). Lloyd left home at an early age and his love of automobiles led him into the automotive business. He first started in a garage in Dartmouth, later moving on to Truro where he worked for number of years. He was active as an Auxiliary member of the RCMP in Truro. He enjoyed camping with his family and was an active horse show dad, chauffeuring Brian and his horse around Nova Scotia. He and Helen moved back to Musquodoboit Harbour and opened their own garage, Lloyd's Esso, which they ran until their retirement. He volunteered at the Ostrea Lake Fire Department. Lloyd was always outgoing and well-liked by everyone in the community. In retirement he enjoyed bingo, playing cards with his many friends and going for drives in the country. A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held in the United Church, Musquodoboit Harbour at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17th. The celebration will be led by Rev. Joan Griffin, with a reception to follow. Cremation has taken place and interment in the cemetery will follow the reception for family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Diabetes Canada or a charity of your choice.
