Lillian Isabell Simms

Funeral service for the late Lillian Isabell Simms, 84, Thorburn, formerly of New Harbour, was held September 5 in Harbour Light Full Gospel Church, Coddles Harbour, with Pastor Scott Chandler officiating. Burial was in the Thorburn Presbyterian Cemetery. Mrs. Simms died August 31, 2018, in Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Elsie (Sangster) Wright. She worked at Canso Seafoods, did housework for people, was a seamstress, enjoyed quilting and was a cancer survivor. She was a homemaker who was very proud of the wonderful family she raised. She is survived by two sons, George (Dot), Kenzieville; John (Edna), New Harbour; two daughters, Lori (Danny) Sangster, New Harbour; Susan (Tyson) Gerrior, Blue Mountain; on-in-law, Daniel Sheehan (Pat Steele), New Harbour; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Josephine (Percy) Pinkham, Audrey (Elliott) Wright, Edwin (Barbara) Wright, Eva Pirie; many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Ross; three daughters, Joanne, Sherry, Rebecca; three siblings, John, Earl (Hope), Marjorie (Irving) Childs; brother-in-law, Grant Pirie.
