Lewis Arthur 'Art' Clarke

CLARKE, Lewis Arthur ‘Art’ It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Lewis Arthur Clarke, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Art was 84 years old. Artie (Lewis) was born in North Sydney, Nova Scotia in August 1935. He married the love of his life, Mary Patricia (nee Sutherland) who predeceased him in 2003. He is survived by his two children, Bob Clarke (Maria) and Bonnie Barker (Peter). Cherished grandfather of Michael Clarke, Holly Barker (Jordan Prud’homme) and Cory Barker (Katelyn). He will be fondly remembered by his many sisters, Marion Pullen (John)-predeceased, Ruth, Patrice; brothers, Stan, Larry, Michael, Nelson- predeceased, sisters-in-law, Wanda Ross (Claude), Alice Short-(predeceased) (Stew) and brother-in-law, Sandy Sutherland (Claire), and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Art was a Canadian Air Force veteran, a loving husband, father and grandfather. Artie was witty, and quick with a joke, always respectful of everyone he met, an avid outdoorsman. We miss him dearly and, in our hearts, know he has finally reunited with his loving Mary. Thank you to the care provided from the EMS to the entire staff of the ICU at NBRHC who provided such compassionate services, providing efficiency, overwhelming care, and a dignified passing. Cremation has been entrusted to McGuinty Funeral Home. As per Art’s wishes, no services or visitation will be held. Desired donation may be sent to Veteran’s Affairs in Art Clarke’s memory.
