Lenita Richard

With deep sadness we share the passing of Lenita (Leni) Richard, 75, at Lakeview Lodge, West Kelowna, BC, on February 11, 2018. Born in New Glasgow, NS, to Leonard and Christina (MacFarlane) Richard. She is survived by her husband Gord Brennan of 34 years, daughter Kelly (John) Doane and granddaughter Jocelyn Doane, all in West Kelowna, BC. She is also survived by stepchildren Tracey (Peter) Brennan-Bailey and Tod Brennan. Lenita is survived by brothers Brad Richard, Bernie Richard and sister Linda Richard. Lenita travelled Europe and worked briefly for the Bank of Nova Scotia in London, England. She also worked for William Smith photography studio in Toronto before joining the RCMP and was stationed at the Toronto airport where she met her husband. Upon her return to New Glasgow, NS, she was employed by Service Canada until retirement. Lenita was known by many people as the "Canada Pension Lady" with fondness and appreciation. The family is planning a celebration of life in New Glasgow during the summer of 2019.
