Leao Sherman — Kentville

Leao Sherman
Leao Standlly Webster Sherman - 90, of Canard, Kings County, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on January 14, 1928 in Canning, he was a son of the late John and Pauleen (Webster) Sherman. Leao did mechanical work and enjoyed playing cards, hockey, baseball, his garden and talking to all the folks over the past 60 years who’s skates that he sharpened. He is survived two sons, Gary (Grace), Canard; Howard (Michele), Fall River; sister, Meena Hoffman, Nictaux Falls; grandchildren, Andrea, Greg, Darian and Ben; step-grandchildren, Luke and Megan; great grandchildren, Cece and Wesley and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Leao was predeceased by his wife, Doreene; sister Estella; half-sisters, Annie, Bernice and Ethel; brothers, Cecil, Gilbert, Harold, Alfred, Alton, Arthur, Covert and Stewart and a half-brother Theo. The family would like to pass on their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Wolfville Elms and the Valley Regional Hospital for all their care in Leao’s final months and days. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A private family burial will take place in the Jaw Bone Corner Cemetery, Canard. Donations in memory may be made to Glooscap District Area Capital Fund.
