Laura Verna Rudderham (Stone)

RUDDERHAM (Stone), Laura Verna Enfield Laura Verna Rudderham (Stone), age 68 of Enfield, passed away on July 3, 2019 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Point Edward, Cape Breton, Laura was a daughter of the late Daniel and Pearl (Hill) Rudderham. Laura had many interests. She was inseparable from her dog, Bailey. She was proud to be a founding member of the Faithfully Speaking Toastmasters Club in Cole Harbour where she won numerous awards and speaking contests and was known for her comedy speeches. She loved attending horse races and visiting her horse, Lucy. Most of all, Laura was known for her humour and her ability to make those around her laugh. Laura enjoyed travelling, camping, gardening and most of all, nursing a sick plant back to life. She is survived by her partner, Blane Page; her children, Leonard Stone (Shelly Tanner), Crystal Gregory (Jason), April Stone and Eliot Stone; her beloved grandchildren, Precious, Branson, Spencer, Sammy, Zachery, Jessy, Jozy and Riley; her siblings, Mary Lewis, Grace White (Curtis), Edwin Rudderham (Denise Van de Ven) and Nance Rudderham (Norman Saulnier). Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Ernest Stone; her infant daughter, Mildred; her brothers, Ernie and Roger; her sisters, RoseAnn and Linda; and her brother-in-law, Leonard Lewis. Laura lived in St. Peters and Enfield for all of her adult life, but her heart was always in Point Edward. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Laura’s life will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13th in The Point Edward Seniors Hall, 2399 Point Edward Hwy., Point Edward, Cape Breton.
