It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Kenneth Edison Taylor of Dartmouth, age 65, on Monday November 5, 2018 at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Sydney River, Cape Breton, he was the son of Edison and the late Jean (Morrison) Taylor. Ken was a former employee of Air Canada for over 30 years and retired from CAW Union as a national representative. Ken attended Riverview High School where he loved playing competitive hockey in his younger years making many lifelong friends through the sport and was known to share stories of those days. He enjoyed spending time at home and often could be found outside working in the yard on his latest project or relaxing with family and friends by his pool. He will be forever missed by his wife and best friend, Susan (Petrie); son, Derek (Chelsea) Taylor; daughter, Lindsay (Janice) Taylor; stepchildren, Greg (Julie) Burrows, Jenna (Aaron) Cardona, Brennan (Deanna) Burrows; grandchildren, Cole, Waverley, Elle, Allan, Daniel, Aiden and Brielle; father, Edison (Adelaide) Taylor; sister, Debby (Doug) Jagger; brother, Robert Taylor, and special nieces and nephew. Visitation will be held Friday, November 9 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 10 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A reception to follow the service. Donations in memory may be made to the QE II Foundation Palliative Care department or charity of choice.
