Joseph Ryan
It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Joe Ryan at the CB Regional Hospital on November 25, 2018. Born in Sydney on March 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Nathaniel and Victoria (Antle) Ryan. Joe was a quiet, loving man who always put his family first and always had a joke to be told. He grew up in Whitney Pier and was always a “pier boy” at heart. Joe was a long time employee of Coop Atlantic until his retirement. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 61 years Marguerite; his daughter, Marlene (Brian) Morrison; son, Donnie Ryan, Wendy (Gushue) Ryan, and his sisters, Gertie (Jim) Long and Betty MacDonald and sisters-in-law, Mary Ryan and Marie Mackinnon; brother-in-law, Ted Snow. He will also be dearly missed by his loving grandchildren, Ryan, Jordon and Annelise Morrison, Jenna and Kelsey Ryan and great-grandchildren, Easton and Emmalyn who always brought a smile to his face. He was predeceased by his brother, Ray Ryan and sisters, Kay Horgan, Rhoda Snow, Carol Scott and Margo Russell. He was also predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Donnie, Hector and Clinton MacNeil, Stephen MacKinnon, Greg MacDonald, Pat Horgan and Jack Scott and sister-in-law, Reynelda MacNeil. There will no visitation as cremation has taken place, a service will be held at TW Curry Parkview Chapel on Friday, November 30, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Dennis Lamey officiating. Internment will take place at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice/Palliative Care Society of CB or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.twcurry.com. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be So, he put his arms around you and whispered come with me With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away Although we loved you dearly We could not make you stay A loving heart stopped beating Hard working hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
