John Richard MacLeod

Funeral service for the late John Richard MacLeod, 80, Inverness, was held August 20 in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove, with Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. MacLeod died August 16, 2018, in Inverary Manor, Inverness. Born March 4, 1938, in Glencoe Station, he was a son of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Moran) MacLeod. In his younger years, he worked in construction, forestry, fishing, and as a lighthouse keeper on Margaree Island during the summer months. He was a resident of The Inverary Manor for the past 11 years. He was a quiet man who enjoyed daily walks downtown. He is survived by his wife, Katie Maggie (MacDonald); sister-in-law, Catherine MacLeod; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph, Donald Patrick; three sisters, Flora (John Alex) MacDonald, Mary Jessie (Cecil) MacQuarrie, Katie Bell (Robert) MacDonald.
