John (Jack) Lefriend — Neil's Harbour

LeFriend, John (Jack) Alexander We are sad to announce the death of Jack, 89, on April 1, 2018, surrounded by family. Jack spent most of his working life in Ontario, with Reynolds Aluminum, and upon retirement returned home to Cape Breton. It was there that he found great joy in gardening, tinkering with crafts and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Lillian; children: Lorna (Murray), Joyce, Dorothy, and Jacquie (Don); stepchildren: Arlen (Jean), Tom (Carolyn), Lorne (Joanne), Louann (Milton), Jim (Maggie), Ed; sisters: Phyllis and Isabel, and many grandchildren, nephews and nieces who will miss him dearly. Jack was predeceased by his parents Charles Walter and Jessie(nee Barnes); brother Silas and a sister Priscilla in infancy. Thank you to Dean and Mary LeFriend for their extraordinary care and support, and to Continuing Care, Victoria County Home Support Services and the doctors and staff of Buchanan Memorial Healthcare Facility for their care. A private burial will be held at a later date.
