John Arthur Boudreau

Funeral service for the late John ‘Junior’ Arthur Boudreau, 78, Antigonish, was held September 6 in St. Ninian Cathedral with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Boudreau died September 3, 2019.

Readers at the funeral Mass were Joe Chesal, Gordon Barker and Leah and Molly Boudreau. Laura and Devin Boudreau presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by Margret MacGregor MacDonald.

Urn bearers were Molly Boudreau, Leah Boudreau, Rachel Gardner and Josh Boudreau.

Born December 19, 1941, in Antigonish, he was the son of the late Emmett and Cecelia (Keefe) Boudreau. Family was very important to him and he was happiest while surrounded by loved ones. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He spent his evenings playing cards at St. Andrews, Club 60, and Arts Building with his wife and friends. He had a tremendous work ethic, a true jack of all trades, and always helped his neighbors and strangers when he could. He took pride in creating and building miniature dories, lobster traps and lighthouses. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, nurturing his flowers, vegetables and birds.  He was a devout Catholic who lived true to his faith.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret ‘Peggy’ (Dort); two sons, Albert Boudreau, Robert Boudreau (Maria Norris); two daughters, Michelle Boudreau, Kimberley Grant (Keith); seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Laura, Devin, Leah, Joshua, Molly, Rachel; sister, Margaret ‘Peggy’ Haines (Ronnie).

He was predeceased by brother, Chester Boudreau.
