John Anthony Hello
John Anthony Hello, 64, Point Michaud, died June 10, 2018.
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, and raised in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Mike Hello and Mary (Elias). He attended Saint Thomas University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and spent many years working in radio, ending as the news and sports director at CJFX in Antigonish. On return to his hometown of Campbellton, he was a board member of The Restigouche Gallery, Campbellton River Rats/Jr. Tigers and chairman of the board of directors for the Memorial Civic Center. He served as councillor (2001-2004) and deputy mayor (2004-2008), for the city of Campbellton, alongside his best friend, former Mayor Mark Ramsay. He retired to Point Michaud, Cape Breton, where he followed his love of music and photography. He was active in various community events.
He is survived by his wife, Heather (MacDonald); daughter, Haley; sister-in-law, Hazel MacDonald.
