JESSIE ANN MACKINNON

A graveside service for the late Jessie Ann MacKinnon, 96, Evanston, was held October 11 in Oakridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Middle Sackville, with Reverend Robert Chapman officiating.

Mrs. MacKinnon died October 2, 2019, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.

Born April 28, 1923, in Soapstone Mine, Inverness County, she was a daughter of the late John and Ella (MacKay) Cummings. She was widowed at the age of 33 and left to raise three children. She was kind, soft spoken and very religious. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by two daughters, Donelda ‘Donna’ Boudreau, with whom she resided; Geraldine (Terry) Sampson; son, John W. ‘Billy’ (Maureen); six grandchildren, Kim, Tanya, Donnie, Trina, Annette, Garry; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald A.; four sisters, Grantie, Catherine ‘Katie May’, Delena, Mary Bell; three brothers, Murdoch, Malcolm, John K.
