James Joseph Wadden ‘Jimmie’, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Born in Main-à-Dieu, he was the son of the late Anthony Ignatius Wadden and Ada Gertrude (Locke) Wadden. Jimmie is survived by his five children, Darrell (Sharon), New Jersey, Kendra McNeil (Billie), Dominion, John (Adele), Dominion, Paula Paon (FX), Howie Centre, and James (Murlana), Moncton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, seven sisters, and one brother. Jimmie was predeceased by four brothers, one sister, two sons-in-law, and one granddaughter. Our dad lived in Lower River Inhabitants for most of his life, and loved fishing, hunting, boating, and cutting wood. He was also an awesome card player, and his favourite games were Forty-Fives and Cribbage. For many years, he worked as an insulator at the Heavy Water Plant in both Glace Bay and Port Hawkesbury, as well as the Gulf Oil Refinery in Port Hawkesbury. There will be no visitation or service. Cremation has occurred, and interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of Celtic Court for the care given to our dad the last eight years, and the support shown to us during the last few days.
