Funeral service for the late Ian Hugh Carroll ‘Carl’ Kennedy, 80, Argyle, Guysborough County, was held September 14 in King’s United Church, Loch Katrine, with Pastor John Luten officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery, Argyle. Mr. Kennedy died September, 9, 2018. Born in Antigonish, he was the youngest son of the late Fred and Alma (Cousins) Kennedy. After a few years in Ontario, he came home in 1963 to his first full-time job in Nova Scotia, with R.P. Cameron Transport Ltd. In 1970, he formed his own company, Carl Kennedy Trucking Ltd., which he ran for 30 years. He continued driving for other operators until 2016, a trucking career that spanned 53 years. He came to know his Lord and Saviour in 1979 and was a founding member of Goshen Gospel Church, where he served as an elder. He was devoted and faithful to his Lord, his church, his family and his community. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hazel (Feltmate); four sons, Brent (Nancy), Glenelg; Scott (Wendy), Bow Island, Alta.; Adam (Cathy), Blues Mills; Carl (Tina), Giant’s Lake; 10 grandchildren, Cody (Hayley), Connor, Tanner, Lauren, Morgan, Logan, Jaron, Addisyn, Laken, Veronica; three great-grandchildren, Rowan, Jude, Huxley; two sisters, Muriel Kennedy, Antigonish; Jean (Rod) Chisholm, Antigonish; sister-in-law, Jean Kennedy, Antigonish; several nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by three brothers, Charlie and Stanley Kennedy, Victor Cousins; sister, Nellie Kennedy. Memorial donations may be made to Goshen Gospel Church or Transport for Christ.
