Harvey Sutherland Clark
CLARK, Harvey Sutherland March 19, 1937 - October 3, 2019 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Harvey Clark of Glace Bay, NS at the CBRH Palliative Care Unit. Harvey was a native of Glace Bay where he lived the majority of his life. His joy in life was his Pomeranian Rusty, he enjoyed taking the dog for drives and sitting at the wharf watching the fishing boats come and go. Harvey was an avid hunter in his day and loved to go ice fishing with Bruce and Herb. He loved to reminisce about the days of hunting moose in Newfoundland. He worked most of his adult life with the Town of Glace Bay and remembered those days fondly. He will be missed by his children, Lori (John), Brenda (Dean), Karen and David, and his step-children, Bonnie Sparrow (Colin), Brenda Gallant and Blaine Gallant (Monica); by his brother, Charles Clark, Ontario; his sister, Minerva MacDonald (Ontario), and also by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many extended family. Harvey was predeceased by his partner/wife, Christina (Tootsie) Gallant; his parents, Bernard and Lavinia (Samson) of Newfoundland; his brothers, Lloyd Clark, Ontario, Stedman Clark, Glace Bay, Bernie Clark, Glace Bay, and his sisters, Marg Shel, Ontario, Mina Livingstone, Ontario, Elva Black, Ontario and Clara Budgell, Ingonish Beach. Cremation has taken place under the arrangement of T.J. Tracey Cremation & Burial Specialists. A family service will be held at a later date. We would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit and the Emergency Dept. at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, the VON, New Waterford Home Care, Dr. Cadegan, Dr. Mathew Smith and EMS in Glace Bay for all their care and compassion in these last number of months. We want to send out a special thanks to Harveys’ nephew Bruce and wife Jane Clark of Glace Bay for all their support and help in the last few months. Their kindness and compassion have been greatly appreciated by us all. Any donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
