HOOPER, Gloria Ann With great sadness, we regret to announce the passing of Gloria Ann Hooper, age 61, on Saturday, October 5, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at the Cape Regional Hospital, Sydney. Gloria was the daughter of the late Bernard and Bridget Parago and foster daughter of Lois Schemm. She is survived by her children, Jeffery Rochan, Crystal MacKenzie and Michael MacKenzie, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are Gloria’s siblings, Dennis (Marg), Elaine (Maynard), Fred (Sheila), Gordon (Margaret), Jimmy (Sharon), Lillian (Bob), Murray, Patricia, Patrick (Marie), Richard (Anita) and Valerie, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her friend, Christina Stockley. Besides her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her siblings, Bernadette, Dave, Joe, Mildred, Stacia and Vince. Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 24 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., followed by a celebration of Gloria’s life at 1 p.m., with Mr. Gary Grant officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and staff in ER and An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Gloria.
