Gerard Joseph Ryan

Funeral service for the late Gerard Joseph Ryan, 71, Tantallon, Saskatchewan, formerly of Port Hawkesbury, was held September 22 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury, with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery. Mr. Ryan died September 4, 2018, in Regina General Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan. Born in Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Leonard and Margaret Ryan. His dream was always to move west and be a cowboy/farmer. He worked at the PCS mine in Rocanville for 32 years, retiring in 2006. After retirement, he began farming, starting with six Black Angus cows and built his herd to 25 cows. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Rogers) Ryan; son, Bradley Gerard Ryan; two daughters, Kelly Lynn Csada, Paula Jean Ryan; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Micheal (Jacquie) Ryan; sister, Elizabeth Forcey. He was predeceased by grandson, Tama Johnathon Ryan; sister, Thresa Ann Ourison; two brothers, Martin and Leonard Ryan. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Cemetery Fund, Port Hawkesbury.
