GERALD MATTHEWS

Funeral service for the late Gerald Matthews, 67, Dundee, was held June 8 in Black River United Church with Reverend Donna Lovelace officiating. Burial was in the Black River Cemetery. Mr. Matthews died May 30, 2019, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born August 9, 1951, in Arichat, he was a son of the late Frank and Hilda (MacRae) Matthews. He was a former employee of the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and the Dundee Resort, where he worked clearing the land and constructing the golf course. He enjoyed music, especially the guitar. He is survived by six sisters, Irene MacInnis, Annie Mae MacInnis, Helen Rehberg, Ruth Matthews, Emily Burns, Judy Matthews; four brothers, Jackie, Duncan, George, Brian; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Ethel MacRae, Bernice Pringle; Georgina Rose, in infancy; brother, Charlie.
