George Edward Young

George Edward Young, 87 of Yorktown Heights, NY, passed away in his sleep at home on Thursday, May 16, 2019 surrounded by his family. George was born on October 8, 1931 to Daniel and Elizabeth (MacIntosh) Young of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. On May 4, 1957 he married Ellison (White) in St. Catharines, Ontario. George is survived by his wife, Ellison, of 62 years; his two daughters, Deborah (Mark) Giordano and Cheryl Frankild; three grandchildren, Mark Jr. (Kimberly), Justin, Kyle, and one great-grandchild, Charli Grace, the love of his life; sister, Mary Hunt of Nova Scotia; as well as many of Ellison's brothers and sisters, their families and other relatives and friends. He preceded in death by his parents; brother, John William; wife, Beatrice; sisters, Theresa Hunt (Reggie) and Ann Marie Thurbide (Joe). George and Ellison enjoyed family gatherings at their trailer in Jersey for years where swimming, barbecuing, campfires, singing and a ton of laughs were shared. George entertained all with his playing of the guitar and singing all the old favorites. The Yankees were also a favorite, along with a good boxing match. He was truly a devoted husband and a loving father/grandfather.
