Genesta 'Net' Glenn

Genesta 'Net' Glenn
Funeral service for the late Genesta ‘Net’ Glenn, 86, Heatherton, Antigonish County, was held July 12 in Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton, with Father Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Glenn died July 7, 2018, at home. Readers at the funeral Mass were Barbie Bowie, Kendra Bailey and Diane Clarke. Allyson Boutilier and Kristyn Boutilier presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by Tyrus Wallace and Brenda Berkvens. Pallbearers were Bryden Boutilier, Tyler Chisholm, Trevor Bailey, Shawn Rhynold, Kris Kulanek and Myles Glenn. Born Sept. 18, 1931, in Little Dover, Guysborough County, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Lillian Rhynold. Over the years, she operated her own hairdressing salon, worked at her niece’s bakery and provided childcare to many families. Her pastimes included baking, tending her garden, visiting and spending time with her cherished grandchildren. Although she never had a driver’s license, she never had any difficulty getting where she wanted to go as long as "you didn’t drive too fast.” Nothing pleased her more than being treated to a good "scoff" at one of her favourite restaurants. She looked forward each year to her visit back to her birthplace, Little Dover, on her birthday, to spend time with her brother and other family members. Our ‘Net’ touched the hearts of everyone she met with her quick wit and her tendency to always speak her mind. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Bob) Boutilier, Antigonish; three grandchildren, Bryden, Toronto; Allyson and Kristyn, both of Antigonish; two sisters, Rita Rhynold, Antigonish, Margie Bray, Bedford; brother, Jim (Pearlie) Rhynold, Little Dover; four special nieces, Loretta (Francis) Venedam, Antigonish; Genesta Bailey, Heatherton; Lillian (Carl) Chisholm, Antigonish; Patsy (Daniel) Kulanek, Heatherton, and their families; several other nieces and nephews; two special friends, Barbie Bowie and Jeanette Brosha. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry; a daughter, in infancy; four brothers, Buddy, Albert, Leonard, Francis; two sisters, Geraldine, Patsy. Memorial donations may be made to the Heatherton Activity Centre, 45-17 Summerside Rd, Heatherton, N.S., B0H 1R0. Online condolences: www.clcurry.com
