Garnet Trenholm
A graveside service for the late Garnet Cyril Trenholm, 84, Timber River, New Brunswick, formerly of Bayfield, Antigonish County, was held August 10 in St. Clement’s Parish Cemetery, Port Elgin, with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Mr. Trenholm died August 7, 2018, in Moncton Hospital. Born April 29, 1934, in Timber River, he was a son of the late Talbot and Estella (Walton) Trenholm. He was a self-employed fisherman, carpenter, fox farmer, Christmas tree farmer and ‘jack of all trades’ prior to his employment as maintenance supervisor at Westford Nursing Home. One of his proudest accomplishments was the construction of the steeple at St. James United Church, Baie Verte. He enjoyed hunting and spending time in the woods. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean (Turpin), Timber River; two daughters, Darlene (Clifford) Smallwood, Cape Tormentine; Joy (Shane) Banks, Murray Corner; son, Michael (Janice Lake) Trenholm, Colpitts Settlement, N.B.; four grandchildren, Derek (Rebecca), Natasha (Nathan), Cally (Lukas), Dylan; six great-grandchildren, Brayden, Donovan, Sophia, Lily, Finn, Rosa; three step great-grandchildren, Kamden, Hailey, Dax; sister, Marjorie; brother, Norman (Wilda); numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by grandson, Dustin Smallwood; three brothers, Melvin, Talbot Jr., Daniel; sister, Daphne. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
