We are saddened to announce the death of our kind and sweet Mother, Fray (McPherson) Hogan, surrounded by her loving family. Fray passed away peacefully on April 5, 2018 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney at the age of 76. Born May 6, 1941 she was the Daughter of the late Wilfred “Biff” and Genevieve (Oliver) McPherson. After Graduating from Business School, Fray worked for many years as a book keeper in New Waterford with Schwartz Ltd. She was a devoted wife and mother of four children. Fray loved to cook, bake and spend time with her family and friends. She especially loved to play bingo, cards and occasionally try her luck at the Casino. Most of all she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. Fray was loved by all who had the pleasure to know her and made many special lifelong friends. Fray is survived by her children, Raymond, Lori (Gary) Delaney, Brent (Monique) and Arlene (Sandy) Campbell; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Colin Delaney, Ryan and Amy Hogan, Brady and Ethan Campbell; sisters, Clorene, Pat (Sandy) White, Alanna Snook (Fabian), Charla McPherson (Spuddy) and Shannan Slusarek (Richard); brothers, Blair (Sharon), Bunny (Willena), Timmy, Junior (Donna), Gussie (Cathy), and Dino. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond “Goodlord” Hogan; sister, Marlene Jewer; brother, Brian McPherson; grandson, Daniel Joseph Hogan (At Birth); brothers-in-law, George Snook and Bill Jewer; sister-in-law, Judy McPherson. The family would like to send a special thank you to her loving sister-in-law, Rachel Ryan for her love and support, to her close friends, Kenny and Aggie Timmons, Annette Campbell and family and Richard and Shannan Slusarek for their time and attention. Also, the family would like to thank Dr. Farrell and the staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. with a chapel service at 11 a.m. with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Army, Navy & Airforce, Smith Street and all are welcome. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 902-862-7500. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
