Francis 'Pete' Proctor — Elora

Francis “Pete” Proctor, age 72 passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 in Elora, Ontario. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Harold and Mary Catherine (Murray) Proctor. Prior to moving to Ontario, Pete was a member of Holy Cross Church and Holy Cross School. In his younger years he enjoyed playing broomball. Pete loved race horses and was once employed by Jimmy Collins and Johnny Wadden. When he arrived in Ontario he went to work for Datton Steel Company in Guelph. He also continued working with race horses at McNair Stables, Ontario. Pete will be missed by his son, Jimmie; mother of his children, Danena Gillis; daughters, Kristine, Lindsay, Tammy; his partner, Adele and her children, his stepdaughters, Angie, Deirdre and his stepson, Jason. He is also survived by his sisters, Margie (Joe), Theresa, Liz; brothers, James (Barbara), David and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Pete was predeceased by his son, Brian; sisters, Mary June, Donna, Rose; brothers, Joey, Michael and Alfred “Punch” Proctor. A celebration of Pete’s life will take place on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 1-4 p.m. in the Elora Legion, Elora, Ontario. On line condolences to the family can be expressed through the V. J.
