Frances Pyett
Pyett, Frances Lillian (Harvie), 86, of Lakelands/Hillsvale, Hants County, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in St. Vincent’s Guest House, Halifax. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick. She was a daughter of the late William and Lillian (Parr) Ackroyd. Frances was an active member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Lakelands. She enjoyed playing Wii at the Ardoise Community Hall, socialization over a coffee with her many friend and neighbors at Lakelands variety store and eating out at the Crossroads restaurant. Surviving are daughters, Karen Chatten, Keswick, Ontario; Wendy (Terry) Jagger, Lower Sackville; Kathy (Geoff) Veinot, Sweets Corner; son, George (Robyn) Harvie, British Columbia; grandchildren, Jamel (Jenny) Joseph, Matthew (marita) Joseph, Mitchel (Samantha) Veinot, Ryan Harvie, Nichiolas Harvie, Kathryn Chatten; 5 great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; brother, Roger Ackroyd, Hantsport; sisters, Daisy (Kenneth) Wilson, Hantsport; Barbara (Carl) Clarke, Alberta; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband, George Angus Harvie; second husband, Kenneth “Frank” Pyett; brothers, William, George, Gerald, Gary, Byron; sisters, Eva and Shirley. Frances’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Vincent’s Nursing Home for the loving care provided to her. Arrangements were under the care of the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. A memorial service was held Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Lakelands, with Rev. Jack Risk officiated. Interment will be held at a later date in the Church of the Holy Spirit Cemetery. Donations in memory of Frances may be made to the Church of the Holy Spirit; St. Vincent’s Nursing Home or charity of one’s choice.
