Fern ‘Mabel’ MacDonald

Funeral service for the late Fern ‘Mabel’ MacDonald, 84, R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, formerly of Kenzieville and Marshy Hope, was held November 20 in Barney’s River Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial was in Kenzieville Cemetery. Mrs. MacDonald died November 16, 2018, in the home. Born in Bon Accord, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Thomas and Bertha (Foster) Hamilton. She was a member of Barney’s River Presbyterian Church and the ladies aid. She enjoyed card parties, church suppers, baking and spending time with her family. She is survived by three sons, John (Charlene), Antigonish; Joe (Laura), Peter (Stacey), both of Kenzieville; five grandchildren, Alexander, Bailey, Ryan, Mary, Jesse (James); two sisters, Nina King, Rebecca Prosser, both of N.B.; brother, Earlin Hamilton, N.B.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander Hugh MacDonald; son, Paul Daniel; daughter-in-law, Karen; granddaughter, Shelby; two brothers, Evard Hamilton; one, in infancy; six sisters, Ruby Jinson, Edna Lint, Dolly DeMarchant, Jeanette Etherington, Phyllis Clark, Isabelle Jinson; brother-in-law, Harold MacDonald; sister-in-law, Mildred Bannerman.
