Eunice Mackenzie

MacKENZIE, Eunice Toronto / Glace Bay It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eunice MacKenzie (89) on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at the Hawthorne Place Care Centre in Toronto, ON. Eunice was born in Glace Bay, NS on July 28, 1930. She was the daughter of late Michael and Mary Agnes (Pickup) MacKenzie. Eunice is survived by her nephew, Michael Douglas MacKenzie and his wife, Jaevaius Mary MacKenzie; her great nieces and nephew, Brenda Marie MacKenzie, Kathryn Ann MacKenzie and Michael Joseph MacKenzie; her great great nieces and nephews, Lita, Morgan, Ryan, Chayse and Rayne. Eunice will be dearly missed by her best friend, Phyllis Lynn. Eunice was pre-deceased by her brothers, Joseph Burns and Michael Bernard McKenzie and his wife, Dorothy (Mason) McKenzie. Also predeceased by her sister, Carmelita MacKenzie (SSA) and by her infant brother, John James and her infant sister, Kaphlene. Eunice attended St. Anthony's school and after graduation moved to Toronto ON where she had a robust career working throughout her life as an administrative assistant. Eunice was an avid collector of antiques and china. A great lover of animals, she always had two cats as faithful companions her whole life. Cremation has taken place. The funeral service is Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding.
